    The towering Tianmen Mountain towers to the skies and stands in the south of Zhangjiajie City, only 8km away from the city area, nominated due to natural spectacle of Tianmen Cave, highest altitude 1518.6m, highest peak in Zhangjiajie, known as “Zhangjiajie Soul” due to dominative momentum in the air.  

    Tianmen Mountain is of the typical karst landform and the coverage percentage of the original secondary forest on the top of the mountain is up to 90%. It is a natural oxygen bar. In 1992, Tianmen Mountain was approved as the second National Forest Park of Zhangjiajie by the National Forestry Ministry. The mountaintop forest has the world’s rare alp dovetree coenosis, Henry emmenopherys, golden maple, Dayong hornbeam and Tianmen Mountain azaleas and other rare plants, the wild abundant is throughout the year, and it is praised as a stunning sky garden. Walk in it, the strange rocks and different grass are everywhere to marvel; the ghost valley dolly way and the gorge suspension bridge hung in the lofty cliff is the overall challenge to the “daring” feeling; look up, the mountaintop forest sightseeing cable car taken by many tourists is floating slowly above the immense forest, the immortal elegant float and extremely relaxed and happy make all tourists to chortle all the way, and the constant laughter and cheerful talk and the ringing twitter in the forest are interlaced into a happy cable car march. 

    The season of Tianmen Mountain is only divided in winter and spring, and the diurnal amplitude is 15℃~25℃, the average air temperature is about 10℃ lower than that of the urban area, it is a good place for taking a summer holiday and enjoying the cool in the summer, for stepping the ice and playing the snow in the winter. Tianmen Mountain is foggy, with an average of 230 foggy days per year, and the cloud sea and cloud waterfall wonders appear often to amaze the tourists.
